It’s here! The Ginkgo pattern is now available as a stand-alone pattern. The pattern is “ordered improvisational piecing” and is perfectly suited to new improv quilters. A video tutorial walks you through how to make the block. And it’s on sale till Monday, August 15!
The baby/wall hanging size measures 40″ x 48″ and requires 8 fat quarters plus a bit of background fabric. It’s a fairly quick endeavour.
Original Ginkgo quilt using now sold-out Keephouse fabric bundle.
The next size up (50″ x 62″) uses 1/2 yard of the feature fabrics and a different bordered composition:
The bed size measures 80″ x 96, using 16 fat quarters. I like the dark background in this mockup.
I made a second wall hanging sized quilt in a more neutral palette – as neutral as a quilt with mustard yellow can be, that is!
Here are the details of the fabrics I used in this one:
Background: Kona Lingerie
Feature fabrics:
-
Kona Gold
-
Kona Black
-
Kona Snow
-
Arroyo by Cotton and Flax for Robert Kaufman (out of print; I’ve hoarded this for a few years!)
-

-
Allison Glass Kaleidoscope in Goldenrod
-
Sevenberry Petite Stripes in Black
-
Kona Parchment
I hope you enjoy making this quilt. Be sure to tag it with #GinkgoQuilt if you post your process or finished quilt on social media!
