Introducing the newest addition to the 3rd Story Workshop sticker collection. Quilts = Home derives from my current 100 Day Project of ink drawings. My new brush pen has allowed me to make such different marks than I’m used to – loose, messy and full of life.
On Day 20, I sketched several traditional quilt blocks that are timeless. The log cabin is one that is iconic. My son recognized it from a storybook, The Patchwork Path: A Quilt Map to Freedom. The centre of the log cabin block is often is most traditionally rendered in red, representing the hearth or fire or the centre of the home.
There is no wonder that quilting brings us comfort and has continued to do so in the last two years. Quilts not only bring us physical comfort, but also provide a metaphorical home for us makers — a safe space for us to process the world’s happenings.
The simple design means so much to so many.
It’s printed on a clear sticker which means that half the log cabin will be the colour of whatever you stick it to — your sewing machine, your laptop, or your journal.
